Author's Fictional 'Oldon' May Seem Familiar to Many In 'Townie'
Author's Fictional 'Oldon' May Seem Familiar to Many In 'Townie'
Concord Journal

The fictional town is called Oldon, but no self-respecting Concordian would mistake the setting of John Butman's recently published novel, "Townie," with any other spot but here. Butman wrote the humorous book out of love for the town, even though the story of Theo, the once-homeless loner who works for a wealthy Oldonian is replete with barbs at contemporary life and mores of Concord… The book is an engaging diary of lost souls, lost loves, business deals, and ultimately, a deep attachment to home that will keep readers laughing and nodding in appreciation.
