EMPLOYEES FIRST, CUSTOMERS SECOND to be Published by Harvard Business Press
Vineet Nayar, CEO of HCL Technologies, in collaboration with Idea Platforms, Inc., will publish his first book, Employees First, Customers Second, with Harvard Business Press. Employees First, Customers Second examines how Nayar turned HCL’s management structure upside down when he made management accountable to employees—a vision that has been heralded by Fortune editor David Kirkpatrick as “the future of management.” Publication in spring 2010.
LEADING OUTSIDE THE LINES Acquired by John Wiley
Jon Katzenbach and Zia Khan, partners at Booz & Company, in collaboration with Idea Platforms, Inc. and Todd Shuster of Zachary Shuster Harmsworth Literary Agency, have sold Leading Outside the Lines to John Wiley & Sons. Leading Outside the Lines will examine how to get the most from the informal aspects of an organization, including social networks, personal commitments, and collaborative efforts. Idea Platforms worked with Katzenbach and Khan to shape and refine their proposal and will help edit the manuscript. Publication is scheduled for spring 2010.
MASTERING THE VC GAME To Be Published by Portfolio
Jeffrey Bussgang, general partner of Flybridge Capital Partners, in collaboration with Idea Platforms, Inc. and Todd Shuster of ZSH Literary, has successfully placed a new work of non-fiction with Portfolio, the business imprint of The Penguin Group. Mastering the VC Game will draw on Mr. Bussgang’s extensive experience as one of the few who have made successful careers as both an entrepreneur and a venture capitalist. The book will explore the most intriguing aspects of creating and managing a start-up business: the pitch, the deal flow, picking partners, working with the board, and cashing out. Publication is set for spring 2010.
TRUE LEADERS Purchased by Harvard Business Press
Authors from the consulting firm, TruePoint, in conjunction with Idea Platforms, Inc. and Jim Levine of the Levine Greenberg Literary Agency, have successfully placed True Leaders with Melinda Merino at Harvard Business Press. True Leaders will identify the practices that create both wealth and worth in companies. Based on extensive interviews with CEOs who are committed to creating wealth and worth, these practices span firms, industries, and geographic regions, and will show leaders how to avoid the either/or dilemma. Publication is slated for spring 2010.
